Intermediate floor structuresFIRE-PROOF SOLUTION FOR FRAMES IN OFFICE BUILDINGS Our frame solution is a comprehensive, fire-proof alternative for frame structures in office buildings. Deliveries may include the designing, production and installation of the frame or possibly just part of these phases. Joining columns and standard-approved Kvatro beams are the essential parts of the frame solution. The intermediate floor structure is typically either cavity slab or shell panel. The intermediate floor beam has been developed together with institutions of higher education and the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The Ministry of the Environment has granted the Kvatro beam its standard approval.
The Kvatro beam optimally combines the best properties of steel and concrete. Studies and reports have concentrated especially on ensuring that the beams and the cavity slab are compatible. Fire-resistance can be rated as high as R120. The intermediate floor beam is covered with concrete at the factory and equipped with lifting lugs to facilitate installation and to guarantee safety. The Kvatro beam may be connected to steel and concrete columns with a console. |
